Brie with Caramelized Pears

  • 1 (13.2 oz) wheel of brie
  • 8 tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 ripe pears, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 to 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • crackers or toasted bread slices
  1. Remove the rind from top of the wheel of brie and place wheel on serving platter; set aside
  2. In a large skillet melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in sugar and cook until sugar melts and turns light brown, about 4-6 minutes.
  4. Gently stir in pear slices and lemon juice; cook until slightly soft, about 5 minutes
  5. Spoon pear mixture over brie.
  6. serve with crackers or bread.
